The Ultimate in Luxury at sea. Silversea Cruises was launched in 1994 with the introduction of the 16,800-ton; 296 Passenger Capacity Silver Cloud and Silver Wind. The fleet have been designed specifically to accommodate passengers looking for the pinnacle of luxury.
Silversea operate an "Open Bar" Policy with COMPLIMENTARY Drinks throughout their fleet offering a fully stocked in suite bar and a wide range of some of the World’s Premium branded wines and champagnes. There is also a "No Tipping" Policy.

The ships are sophisticated and stylish without being too formal. The "All-Suite" accommodation, almost all with Private Teak Wood Verandas, is spacious and beautifully appointed.
Two more ships entered service in 2000 & 2001. The Silver Shadow and the Silver Whisper are slightly larger than their sisters Cloud and Wind. They are 28,250 tons with a passenger capacity of 382.
Their 5th All-Suite Luxury Liner, Silver Spirit enters service December 2009, which is slightly larger again at 36,000 tons with a passenger capacity of 540.

The only Wine Restaurant by Relais & Châteaux at sea can be found aboard the ships of Silversea. Indulge in an evening where the world''s rarest vintages are complemented by a set tasting menu of regionally inspired dishes, an extraordinary six-course experience celebrating the world''s most distinguished wine regions. Aptly named Le Champagne, this specialty wine restaurant fosters a cosy ambience perfectly suited for private dinner parties.
La Collection du Monde...
A highlight of the partnership is La Collection du Monde, the exclusive signature dishes presented in partnership with Relais & Châteaux that are not available on any other ship. Years of epicurean experience is brought to the table with items such as roasted wild boar with porcini mushrooms; breast of pigeon slow-cooked with foie gras and truffle havings; and baby turbot cooked in Madras curry and coconut milk with fresh coriander, to name a few.
Culinary Arts Voyages...
Guests can join the Grands Chefs of Relais & Châteaux, embodying the finest astronomic traditions, for entertaining demonstrations, lectures and a grand gourmet dinner. On each culinary sailing, the distinguished guest chefs display their epicurean artistry during informative and entertaining cooking demonstrations. Guests can taste and learn firsthand the secrets of enticing signature dishes created by such master chefs as Anne Desjardins, the CAA/AAA Four Diamond chef/owner of L''Eau à La Bouche in Ste-Adèle, Québec; Eyvind Hellstrøm, owner and chef of Oslo''s two-Michelin-starred Bagatelle; and Jacques Thorel, chef/owner of Michelinstarred Auberge Bretonne in La Roche-Bernard, France.
The Culinary Arts enrichment voyages also feature escorted provisioning trips to International markets (when the itinerary permits), food and wine pairings, creative regional dishes, and a fivecourse grand gourmet dinner. Throughout these special voyages, the featured guest chef and Silversea’s executive chef are on hand to share their culinary expertise and answer any questions.
