Went on the Dubai Cruise. Dubai absolutely great. As you would expect everything is expensive. Spent 2 days before the cruise at the Grand Hyatt, a very good start, 5* hotel in every aspect. Club room luxurious. Both inside and outside pools lovely. Market cafe for breakfast, excellent choice in all foods, every nationality catered for. Embarkation for the cruise very quick, no problems. Cabin JS1602, aft end. The best yet, we have preference for aft cabins, very quiet and a perfect view for leaving ports. Large balcony with table, chairs and sunbeds. 2nd sitting for dining. The food could have been better,to us it had no imagination or flair. Did try Portofinos, $20 supplement, well worth it, very good indeed. Entertainment excellent, Gordon cruise director, is a class act. The ship is first rate, plenty to do even if you stay on board. All the usual shops casinos and bars. We drank mainly in the Champagne Bar, staff excellent, even when busy. The ports of call were very different from any other cruise itinery, Abu Dhabi is well worth another visit. Muscat has its own personality, Fijiriah bland and Bahrain we didn't get off the ship. Lastly Dubai, it doesn't disappoint. A new city that has everything one could ask for. Visited the Dubai Mall, enough shops for the shopoholics, indoor ice rink, a fish tank 3 stories high, what more can you say. Went to the Burj Al Arab for afternoon tea, 7* service and food. An experience to be savied. Disembarkation just as quick, Dubai Airport another treat, brand new Terminal 3, more shops to explore. Flights Emirates, Manchester to Dubai, again no problems, entertainment channels at least a 100 films to choose from. Would gladly do it again with Princess next time if they decide to do it.
Just wish Dubai and Abu Dhabi were not so far away would love to go back.

Just to let you know that our recent cruise on Siversea's Silver cloud was terrific. We had a wonderful holiday and all the arrangements worked out beautifully. It is the first time we have cruised with Silversea and we were not disappointed. The service was impeccable and the food was the best we haver ever experienced in all the years we have been cruising. Up to now our favourite cruise has been with Seabourn but Silversea was equally enjoyable. All inclusive cruises may be more expensive but it is a definate bonus not to have to worry about mounting bar bills and the dreaded tipping ceremony.

Our thanks to Daniel and the team for arranging such good flights and our stay at the Copacobana Palace hotel in Rio was the icing on the cake.

Regards
Carole and Gordon Berlyne.
